Senate Omnibus Education Policy Bill Released
And Off We Go! The Senate Education Policy Committee has posted their version of the education policy omnibus bill and will do a walk-through of the legislation tomorrow at the Senate Education Policy Committee that begins at 12:30 PM (we aren’t doing 12:30 AM meetings . . . yet). I have not combed through the bill to identify all it contains, but the core of the bill is the Governor’s education policy bill–SF 3567 (as introduced)–with a number of bills that have been heard in the committee over the past month tacked on to it. The new language of the bill is contained in this strike-everything amendment–SF 3567 (strike-everything amendent)–that will take the place of the bill as introduced. Almost all (perhaps all) of the language in the original SF 3567 and add, as stated above, language from other Senate Files. There is an additional 30 pages of text in the amendment and we’ll fund out at tomorrow’s walk-through which of those bills made it into the larger policy bill.
The House is doing its walk through of their policy bill–HF 3782–at the Tuesday meeting of the House Education Policy Committee that starts at 3:00 PM.
